The iGaming giant, Playtech, took a while to step foot in the US. Its dominance in the European iGaming markets has been evident in the past twenty years. Playtech has developed over 1000 slots, numerous branded games, a live casino studio, and exclusively powers popular casinos like bet365 through its software.
Although Playtech was late to the party, it entered the US gaming space with a clear vision in mind. Firstly, it acquired licenses to operate in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey. Soon after, the company’s games appeared on the best casinos, including DraftKings, Golden Nugget, and BetRivers. BetMGM and bet365 followed.
The company’s live games played a key role in its revenue share increase. They quickly gained ground by streaming from MGM properties in Las Vegas. A similar partnership between Playtech and Hard Rock will help the company capitalize in the Florida gambling market when it gets established.
As a result of the above key moves, in 2024, Playtech managed to increase its rev share in the North American market by over 200% compared to 2023.
The legalization of online casinos in Ontario also played a key role in this, and we’ve recently spotted Playtech in the growing sweepstakes casino market. Some of the studio’s game shows and live dealer games are now prominently featured on McLuck and Pulsz social casinos.
By the looks of it, Playtech is keen to take on other US iGaming studios like Evolution and further capitalize on the lucrative market.
